Winestate magazine has named Bird in Hand's Chief Winemaker Kym Milne MW, Australian Winemaker of the Year two years in a row. Kim brings over 30 years of winemaking talent and countless prestigious awards.

Coby Ladwig, WA

Kings Landing & Rosenthal Wines

Coby is a force to be reckoned with in the wine industry, going from strength to strength. Chief winemaker at Rockcliffe for several years and winning them some very prestigious awards along the way before branching out on his own to open Rosenthal winery & Kings Landing.

Haselgrove Wines

Alex has won Winemaker of the Year by Winestate Magazine. With James Halliday 5 red stars, a spade of trophies & gold medals awarded under Alex's stewardship, Haselgrove continue to kick goals on the wine show circuit & with wine writers alike.

Anthony D'Onise, NSW

Antonio's Wines & Windowrie Estate

Growing up in an Italian-Australian winemaking family on a South Australian vineyard, he has been immersed in winemaking culture from a young age. After earning a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Oenology) from the University of Adelaide in 2003, he refined his skills at top wineries such as Vylyan in Hungary and Le Chablisienne in France.

Samantha McKendry, NSW

Vinifera Wines

Sam is taking over the reins from her parents, Tony and Debbie McKendry, who started the vineyards 30 years ago and pioneered organic winemaking in Mudgee, NSW. From the first Tempranillo vines in Australia to today, their journey is truly inspiring.

Andrew Higgins, NSW

Tamburlaine Organic Wines

Andrew's background includes 18 years at McWilliams, where he rose through the ranks to become Chief Winemaker until the company’s recent sale. His experience has also been accumulated on an international scale, with technical skills learned in France and the US.
